Joe Piscopia 'Quite a Turnaround'

$0.00
NFS

“Quite a Turnaround” , watercolor and gouache on 300gm watercolor paper, 12 x 9 inches, 2021

Artist Statement

Many images develop from unconsciously drawing and sketching as a daily practice, or at times from a single word that can be a catalyst to develop into a painting. These amorphous shapes are rendered and fleshed out with tone, light and shadow taking on surreal elements. As the reality of life can be found in many variations and emotions passing in a single moment of a day, the work can be seen as illuminations of these consequences of feelings or idea’s that have affect. Underscoring this theme the work is an attempt of a documentation of images as unreal abstractions.

Artist Bio

Joe Piscopia is graduate from School of Visual Arts and has a growing practice as an artist living and working in Brooklyn, NY. He has exhibited in numerous group shows including Collar Works flat file show 2020, and continues to pursue paintings and drawings daily.
