$0.00
NFS

Untitled (landscape), paper collage, 14 x 11 in, 2019.

Artist Statement

I enjoy the quiet moment - how the space of an alleyway frames a view of clouds in the sky or the way a wire fence touches the brick façade next door My work emerges through a practice of deep looking and close observation of the urban environment. I consider each piece to be site specific in the sense that it is a direct reaction to the physicality of a place. Referencing the shapes of buildings and architectural vernacular, I work across drawing, collage, sculptures, and video to examine questions related to my physical and mental perceptions of a space.

Artist Bio

Clara Gross is a visual artist based between Berlin and New York City. She works across sculpture, drawing, and video to create artworks centered around questions of experience and memory in the architectural and urban environments. Gross holds a BA in art and philosophy from Connecticut College and is a member of NYC Crit Club. She has exhibited in the US and Europe.
