NFS

Hydrangea Sepia ink on Manila paper 11” x 8 1/2” 2018

Artist Statement

Fragments and pieces from the natural world have been my focus for 30 years. In my paintings these forms become much more abstracted and psychological. I have always drawn first. Drawing is an intimate act. The artist must search out the relationships between the forms. Ink is my favorite medium as the line has it’s own rhythm and weight. It is an act of honor to render a subject accurately.
