Christian Wechgelaer 'Magic Hour'

$0.00
NFS

Magic Hour, 2021 Archival Inkjet Print, 16 x 21 inches.

Artist Statement

Photography documents moments and spaces that can be tucked away and recalled at a later date. During our lives, a photograph can become a proxy for the actual memory. Through rephotographing family pictures, childhood drawings, and spaces associated with my memory, I construct physical representations of remembering. Each piece represents a window into a forgotten youth, where new meaning is being uncovered.

Artist Bio

Christian Wechgelaer is a printmaker and interdisciplinary artist who lives and works in Upstate New York. He received his BFA in Studio Art with a Concentration in Printmaking and Minors in Art History and Photography in May 2021 from The College of Saint Rose. Christian is currently an intern at the International Print Center New York.
