Arpa Mukhopadhyay 'Mother's Love'

$0.00
NFS

Mother's Love, Acrylic on Canvas, 14 x 18 inches.

Artist Statement

Inspired by the great Indian masters, this art piece is a combination of contemporary and traditional art of India. This painting from my "Indian Village Women" series depicts a mother’s love and hope for a better future for her child. As a form of respect for their role, mothers are often associated with “Devis” or goddesses in India, and the lit 'diya' or candle in the background is representative of the same. The choice of saffron-yellow sari matches with the candle which is full of warmth and brightness.
