Artist Statement
My leisure time has usually been saved up for travel. I have not left the state of New York since December 2019. This group of photographic collages is an example of my imaginary vacations during Covid. Intended as one artwork consisting of 35 elements; I feel the repetition is necessary for the subtly, redundancy and humor to be made clear.
Artist Bio
Katharine Umsted was born in Rhode Island and grew up in South Carolina. She moved to Manhattan in 1988 for graduate school at The School of Visual Arts. Since that time Katharine has continued to to work and exhibit in New York and the Hudson Valley as well as many other venues.
