Shaun Haugen, "Six Red Dots and Plant"

$0.00
NFS

Ink, acrylic, and fabric collage on paper, 12"x9", 2018. $300

Artist Statement

My work is about the evolution of human psychology. I am interested in the primitive state of human existence that has changed over thousands of years into a more refined and controlled state of existence. I use this idea to make loose and poetic collages that verge on the bizarre while still trying to tap into the sublimity of modern human progress.

Artist Bio

Shaun Haugen was born in Austin, TX (1986). He is a summa cum laude graduate of Texas State University majoring in Studio Art with a minor in English Writing. He has also studied and conducted research at the experimental School of the Alternative in Black Mountain, NC. He has exhibited in NYC, London, Washington, D.C., North Carolina, Oklahoma, and throughout Texas and his art and writing have been published in multiple literary journals. His first solo show exhibited in 2021 at ARTIFACT Gallery in Manhattan, NY. He has been accepted to Pratt Institute for an MFA in Painting and Drawing and will enroll in Fall 2021.
