NFS

Drawer 5- Centering (Magenta), Watercolor on Paper, 16.25 x 11.75 in., 2020

Artist Statement

Inquiry and exploration are the foundation of my work, and in this base, I find kinship with science. I am interested in the imaging technologies used by scientists. X-rays, telescopes, and seismographs are used to visualize aspects of our world, and ourselves, that would otherwise be left unseen. Similarly, artists produce images and objects that represent, focus, and embody aspects of ourselves and our worlds.

Artist Bio

Nicholas Warndorf is a visual artist based in Columbus, OH. His work has been exhibited with the SciArt Center of New York (New York, NY), The Cambridge Stem Cell Institute (Cambridge, UK), Collar Works (Troy, NY), ROY G BIV Gallery (Columbus, OH), and the Cultural Arts Center (Columbus, OH). He has an upcoming solo show at 934 Gallery (Columbus, OH) in the fall of 2020. At Otterbein University he studied Studio Art and Philosophy, receiving a BA in both, and later received an MFA from Stony Brook University.
